Summer is in full swing, which means 90 degree days and 100 degree subway stations. With this comes bare arms, shoulders and legs, begging for some relief from the heat.
While walking the streets on a hot, Brooklyn afternoon or riding the F train from Manhattan, you’re bound to notice more art on the streets, but not on the sides of buildings. Instead, it’s on the arms of your barista, the collarbone of the fashionable girl on the subway, the toned calf of a biker on his fixie, or spread across the back of the mom taking her kids to the park.
Everyone’s ink tells a story, and if you’re thinking about getting inked this summer, here are some of the best storytellers in Brooklyn:
Kelli Kikcio @kellikikcio
Delicate and hand-poked, book her if you can – Kelli is in high demand.
Drew Linden @drewlinden
Drew is nothing short of a BOSS when it comes to her tattoos.
Hillary Blair @hillary_blair
THESE FLOWERS ARE TO DIE FOR.
Rita Salt @ritasalt
This Pratt Institute grad is killing it with her flash only tattoos with books upon books to choose from to find your lifelong freaky companion.
Evan Paul English @evanpaulenglish
I'm dying to be blessed by this man’s hand.
Zach Bonim @zach_bonime
Zach’s skills with shading and color are ones to envy.
Zoe Bea @zoebeantattoo
If this tat doesn’t represent us all waiting for the train in 95 degree weather… Zoe is crazy talented for sure.
