THE FEED SHOP & CAFE
Founded by Lauren Bush in 2007, FEED strives to empower children by supporting the fight against hunger. FEED’s proceeds go towards providing those in need with free, nutritious school lunches. In fact, every FEED product has a number stamped on it, representing how many meals or micronutrient packets the purchase provides. To this date, FEED has provided 100,287,174 meals!
FEED has brought their mission to Brooklyn by selecting DUMBO as the location of their first ever retail location. At the shop, not only can you buy the FEED bags, but also various coffees, teas and baked goods. Check out the FEED Shop & Cafe in Empire Stores at 55 Water Street.
CHARITY CANVAS
Charity Canvas is an online art gallery that sells art, objects and gifts that help give back. For every purchase, 25 percent of the proceeds are donated to various charities, such as the Food Bank for New York City and Planned Parenthood. It operates from its headquarters in DUMBO.
“Charity Canvas is an enterprise founded on the principles of giving, transparency, and a whole lot of love. Our mission is to expand charitable giving by enhancing the experience of donating.”
Numerous artists work with Charity Canvas, including Founder & CEO Nathan Katsuki. All partnered artists come from different backgrounds and artistic styles. Some have chosen charities they personally resonate with, while others allow customers to choose.
