RARE/finds: Free Brooklyn Entertainment

Whether you’re a tourist or a local, there's always more to explore in the city. The RARE team has highlighted three summer spots in Brooklyn, all of which don’t require a dime. Enjoy a day (or night) out guilt-free.

Industry City

Located in Sunset Park, Industry City was previously an intermodal shipping, warehousing and manufacturing complex. Over time, it has transformed into what is now a hub for film, architecture, trendy fashion and foods harbored by a population of creatives. There are several opportunities here for free entertainment.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

One of the most beautiful spots in NYC, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a place to enjoy nature and peace in the midst of a bustling city. Admission is free Friday mornings before noon – a great way to kick off your weekend. The garden is also known for their occasional festivals and events, so be on the lookout to see what’s “in bloom.”

Brooklyn Bridge Park

We might take it for granted, but this park is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. There are numerous free activities and events, such as outdoor movie showings, public kayaking and live music.

And of course, capturing spectacular city views by walking the Brooklyn Bridge!
